David balfour is kidnapped, to be carried away to the Americas, after narrowly escaping being murdered by his uncle Ebenezer. He meets Alan Breck, the Jacobite, on board ship, but they are shipwrecked off the coast of Scotland. The two friends witness the murder of the Red Fox and an adventurous journey across Scotland follows for David before he makes claim to his rightful inheritance.
